Please join the Center for Strategic and International Studies for a conversation with former U.S. Secretary of State Madeleine Albright on the importance of American leadership and engagement in world affairs, the refugee crisis, and the situation in the Middle East. Dr. Albright was the first woman to serve as America's top diplomat. She served as the U.S. permanent representative to the United Nations from 1993 to 1997.
Currently, Dr. Albright is chair of the Albright Stonebridge Group and Chair of Albright Capital Management. She is also a professor in the practice of diplomacy at the Georgetown University School of Foreign Service and is a member of the Defense Policy Board at the U.S. Department of Defense. Dr. Albright received the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the nation's highest civilian honor, in 2012.
The Smart Women, Smart Power (SWSP) initiative is designed to amplify the voices of women in foreign policy, national security, and international business.
