In its full-scale invasion of Ukraine, Russia has destroyed critical civilian infrastructure, bombed cities and towns across the country, and forced the largest refugee migration in Europe since the Second World War. Advanced planning and preparation are needed now to ensure Ukraine’s survival and success as it rebuilds from the destruction wrought by Russian brutality. The Center for Economic Policy Research’s new book “Rebuilding Ukraine: Principles and Policies” outlines the groundwork necessary for future recovery efforts in Ukraine, from European Union integration to energy infrastructure to international aid oversight. The book provides sector-by-sector analysis to inform policymakers and the public on expert approaches to transform and modernize Ukraine.

What are the most pressing reconstruction challenges facing Ukraine? How can Western countries and aid organizations best support rebuilding efforts in Ukraine?
