The international community looks with great concern how the relations between the U.S. and Russia are deteriorating. The acrimony on the part of the U.S. and the natural reactions on the part of Russia are leading both superpowers to a situation that affects the stability of the international community andpeace in the world.

America must realize that Russia, China and India, and likely other countries will decline to play a junior role to the U.S. in international affairs. Russia is needed and should be invited to help create a more stable world. In that process, and over time, Russia will find its way towards a system with more affinity with the democratic industrialized world, according to its own unique situation, own pace and as owner of its own national destiny.

This evolution between the U.S., its allies, and Russia should not be carried out in an adversarial and conflicting manner, but in an atmosphere of constructive engagement. An adversarial relationship need not translate into their becoming enemy nations.
