Award-winning Washington Post reporter Laura Meckler will discuss her new book, “Dream Town: Shaker Heights and the Quest for Racial Equity,” at a National Press Club Headliners Book Event on Wednesday, Sept. 13 at 6:30 p.m.

Meckler, a national education writer for the Post who grew up in Shaker Heights, Ohio, examines the Cleveland suburb’s decades long quest to create a racially integrated community, confronting both the ideals and realities of her hometown.

Tickets cost $5 for members of the National Press Club and $10 for the general public. Pre-ordered books will be available for pickup and signing at the event. Attendees will also be able to purchase books at the door.

The program will include a question-and-answer session. To submit a question in advance for the panel, put “DREAM TOWN” in the subject line and email to headliners@press.org.
