The food system contributes about 34 percent of total global greenhouse gas emissions, with China and the United States as the first and third largest emitters, respectively. Among the greatest opportunities for emissions reductions in the food system are reducing and repurposing food loss and waste, along with improvements in fertilizer use efficiency.

At this webinar, speakers will explore the pathways for the U.S. and China to achieve emission reductions, soil health improvement, and sustainable development goals while meeting global food demand.

This meeting is co-sponsored by the Wilson Center’s China Environment Forum and the California-China Climate Institute.
