Each year, the Arms Control Association brings together both Arms Control Association members and the public to discuss the most pressing of current arms control issues for its Annual Meeting.

With the negotiations between P5+1 and Iranian diplomats at a critical juncture and U.S.-Russian tensions halting progress on further nuclear arms reductions, this year's meeting will feature speakers and panels on solving the Iranian nuclear puzzle and jump-starting progress on global nuclear disarmament.

*Following the Annual Meeting, there will be an informal evening reception held at the Beacon Sky Bar to meet with members of the staff, the Board of Directors, as well as fellow Arms Control Association members and guests.

An RSVP is required for both the annual meeting and/or the evening reception.

This year's speakers include:

  • Keynote speaker Des Browne, former Secretary of State for Defense of the United Kingdom and current Vice Chairman of the Nuclear Threat Initiative;
  • Robert Einhorn, Brookings Institution; Alireza Nader, RAND Corporation; and Elizabeth Rosenberg, Center for a New American Security;
  • Thomas Countryman, assistant secretary of state for International Security and Nonproliferation (ISN); Gaukhar Mukhatzhanova, Center for Nonproliferation Studies; and
  • Tom Z. Collina, director of policy at the Ploughshares Fund, presenting key findings from our new report, The Unaffordable Arsenal: Reducing the Costs of the Bloated U.S. Nuclear Stockpile.
