An expert panel will reflect on the profound impact the 9/11 terrorist attacks had on security and global strategy, 25 years on. Overview The 9/11 attacks, which struck at the very heart of the US mainland, had catastrophic long term consequences across the globe, leading directly to war in Afghanistan, the broader US 'War on Terror' and the invasion of Iraq.
