The SADC Mobile Phone Data Technical Workshop will bring together national statistical offices, telecommunications regulators, and mobile network operators from six SADC Member States plus one country observer in Gaborone, Botswana, from 26 to 30 October 2026 Botswana, Malawi, Madagascar, South Africa, Sao Tome and Principe, Zambia, Somalia observer . Organized by the SADC Secretariat as part of the SADC Regional Statistics Project, funded by the World Bank Group and supported by the Global Data Facility, the workshop aims to strengthen the capacity of national statistical systems to integrate mobile phone data into official statistics.
