Blue foods aquatic animals, plants and algae harvested or farmed for human consumption can help countries strengthen food and nutrition security, support resilient livelihoods, and reduce food system emissions. Yet their potential remains underrepresented in national climate planning. This webinar explores how countries can strengthen the role of blue foods in their climate commitments and turn ambition into action. A new WRI study examines the inclusion of blue foods in 2025 Nationally Determined Contributions NDCs across 86 island and coastal countries. It finds growing recognition of fisheries and aquaculture, but significant gaps remain.
