Addressing skyrocketing drug prices is a priority for U.S. Senator Susan Collins (R-ME). She has earned a national reputation for working across party lines to advance evidence-based solutions to pressing policy issues. In 20 years in office, she has held numerous leadership positions, including current chair of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging.
She has also championed bipartisan measures in Congress to increase the affordability and accessibility of prescription drugs. Beginning in 2015, Senator Collins led the Senate’s landmark bipartisan investigation into the rising prices of off-patent prescription drugs, and legislation she introduced to improve generic drug competition and reduce costs became law in 2017.
Pew works to understand the underlying drivers of rising prescription drug costs and identify novel policies to better manage spending on these products. We welcome Senator Collins to Pew to discuss her efforts to reduce Americans’ prescription drug expenses and ensure patients have access to needed therapies.
Registration to attend in person is requested by 12 p.m. on July 13.
