You are invited to this brown bag, hybrid event “Unveiling Truth and Inspiring Change,” with in-person or online participation. For those who will be in person, lunch will be provided.
This event aims to raise awareness and foster discussions surrounding the book “Survivors Uncensored: 100 + Testimonies of Resilience and Humanity,” co-authored by Claude Gatebuke and Delphine Yandemutso.
“Survivors Uncensored” is a powerful collection of testimonies from survivors of the Rwandan genocide in 1994 as well as pre and post genocide atrocities including in the Democratic Republic of Congo. The book offers poignant insights into their experiences and showcases stories of resilience and humanity. Through this event, we endeavor to call attention to the need for healing, reconciliation, accountability, and peace promotion.
Additionally, the event aims to shed light on the role of the U.S. and the West in atrocities currently occurring in DR Congo, spanning from 1996 to today. By raising awareness of these ongoing struggles, we aspire to promote justice, accountability, and a deeper understanding of the Congolese people’s plight and a path to lasting peace.
