Please join Freedom House, El Tiempo Latino and Tu País Foundation for a panel-style event with OAS Secretary General Luis Almagro, Venezuela’s Supreme Court justices Antonio José Marval Jiménez and Alejandro Jesús Rebolledo, and Julio Borges, the president of the National Assembly, to discuss the death of democracy in Venezuela. Justices Jiménez and Rebolledo, who are among those appointed to the high Court by the country’s National Assembly, are under politically motivated investigations and persecution from the government of Maduro.
The panelists will discuss the end of separation of powers and the general, accelerated erosion of democratic institutions that the country has experienced.
