Why AI Initiatives Stall: Escaping Pilot Purgatory and Reaching Scale

Organizations are investing heavily in AI, yet far fewer get past the pilot. This interactive study group asks why, and whether the answer has much to do with AI at all. Drawing on ongoing M RCBG research, participants will share what they have seen in organizations they know, then diagnose real cases in which similar AI initiatives met different fates. We will ask what actually caused each initiative to stall, and what evidence would tell us. Was it the technology, the organization, or something else? Part of the work is telling the difference.
