0900-1020: Gender Integration and the U.S. Military: Challenges and Opportunities - focuses on the practical challenges and opportunities that Secretary Carter’s announcement poses to the U.S. military. Gender integration has already opened the door to discussions and debates about both the practicality and suitability of women in positions that were previously closed. With the announcement made, however, the way the services meet the potential challenges of gender integration will shape how the force is able to meet threats in the ever-changing contemporary security environment.

1040-1200: Fighting Irregular Warfare with an Integrated Force - focuses on how gender integration actually shapes the battlefield. With a dynamic and changing threat environment, the integration of women into all military occupations provides the potential for unique skillsets to be leveraged, and policy makers and practitioners must consider these in future strategic planning.
